Poptropicaget Clothes From Other Guys

mafia culture Alexander Neill

In this blog we touch different angles of the relationship between people and society and, in particular, between persons in a society that does not work as a community. In fact, while the society we live in is limited to control and regulate the relations of individuals between them, a company-community "protect" people and the relationships between people. The company rule, govern, manage individuals considered as objects, while a large community could respect, protect and organize people's lives [see in particular the post of Section "Person, community, society and politics" ].

In this blog we have postponed for a long time the problem of the mafia or the mafia, that is, those strange aberrations of community rooted in our society. The more entrenched as the company is far from a "reality. The mob then be understood as the worst evil in the "normal" social. We have not postponed the matter for lack of interest. In fact, one of the sites we have friends from the earliest times to the "Kill All" is to refer our readers to a good site, and to say where we stand. Yet we have not written a single post on Mafia. That either is or pretends to be a post on the Mafia, but only a starting point for reflection on why not take care of this particular issue in depth.

The reasons are many and are reduced to one: this is a blog that is specifically the intersections between the size of personal and community or social. It is not a blog on psychology and spirituality, but not on economics or sociology or politics. No post, then on mafia as there is no post on unemployment or the coup so that Creeping certain forces are trying to implement. With few exceptions we have avoided issues "special" or the moment because we deal in its overall relationship between the inner and sociability. Obviously, many issues that we care so much neglect, but they are already covered by other sites or books or associations.

So even in this post does not talk about "mafia" as well as in other post we talked about "school" or "health care" or "the machinery of justice", while touching on themes such decline in these directions our more general discussion and to clarify that in the end what we say has considerable impact on the level of concreteness and everyday life. The consistency of our post is always the way in which people are helped or hindered in their ability to fully express themselves and how they are treated: as objects or as subjects.

Now if the term "community" we can give the "perfect society" to strive for (consisting, namely, to protect the person, of all people), we must say that the mafia is not just a "party" society, but is a reality that is negative in the ideal of community is a "horror Community" encysted in society as a tumor. While the army, the school, the release constitute "constituent areas," normal society the mafia is not a party essential: it is a pathological product that feeds your negativity of society and return to society (amplified) the same elements of negativity. It is a product closely related but not essential. In fact, the trouble with the mafia, apart from the criminal acts with which it expresses itself physically, is that it is a "big family" that is in society without being an integral part, while producing results that impact heavily on the functioning of society. As a "big family" is based on mutual recognition between subjects, but also on the exaltation of dis-values. The Mafia is a culture, a membership system, a loyalty system that produces ignorance, cancel people and leads to the negation of the value of staff who is not part and even those who belong. The dis-values are the ties of blood, the bonds of obedience, subordination of ethics to the survival of the group and its power.

All that sanctifies the person (the development of its potential, the expression of his feelings, his ability to know and convey his knowledge, his dignity and his respect for other people) is profaned the mafia culture. The person has for its membership and not for how it can develop in a unique way in the big world. The person has for what he did for the group, not for what makes good. The person has, ultimately, as a means to increase the power of the group and not as an end.

The mafia culture is a culture of fear: fear (constant) is not accepted by the group because it is the group that gives value to the person. In such a culture is not the person who enriches the group with its uniqueness. And the group is defined not to include persons who, but for his use of people in order to increase the power of the group. The comparison with the tumor in an otherwise healthy body is therefore not a poetic affectation, but close enough analogy.

Mafia trampling human dignity and affirms the honor of belonging to the group. This applies to soldiers as leaders: all strangled by fear of worthlessness (the group). The Mafia devours religion and becomes tradition, devours family relationships and transforms them into ownership "of blood," devours the loyalty that marks the friendship and loyalty turns into a hierarchical structure. It 's just the fear to unite on an emotional level and cultural community mafia and support the vitality of the community. But what kind of vitality is it? For what purpose the community is strengthened, it expands, it exposes risk and commit crimes? Simply power. More power, more money, more power and greater expansion. In order to make more money (taken from "external" society, that of "other") and to develop more power. Like a cancer that has no other purpose than to expand. The Mafia is a culture (in the sense of "tradition") that does not produce culture (in the sense of knowledge), it's vital that produces dead, is a rich producing misery.

The Mafia as a cultural reality and emotional concerns us because it is the worst version of fear and idolatry of power. Whoever is afraid and seek power and potentially mafia. Can be seduced, blackmailed, bought and sometimes even "welcomed". We do not live in a society mafia in the strict sense, but in a society compatible with the mafia in the sense that it was not just the antibodies. To them should overcome its culture of indifference, or the "culture of nothingness" that make up the ground "weak" on which the negative values Mafos can take root and flourish.

Those with a strong sense of dignity of person and dignity of other people, those who seek to live a good life and who does not care about power, it can only be unrelated to the mafia or enemy of the Mafia. From foreign enemies, we can say that somehow we have always dealt with mafia writing our posts on respect for children, the problems of adolescents, on the authoritarian personality, the prejudices, the need to belong, the need for people to live among people in a community.

What we really fear is not the mafia, even though we very much hope that the police, judiciary and politics operate coherently against the Mafia in Italy and abroad. What we really fear is a society of individuals struggling to become a community of people. This company is fragile, has Weak values, purposes has faded, expresses feelings and produces weak political inconsistent. This normal society based on exploitation, madness and stupidity is on the ground can be grown on waste as the monstrosity of the Mafia .

Only for this reason (and because of our knowledge and higher skills) prefer to deal with the everyday dullness, numbness of the normal and ordinary madness, is hoping to hit the target, hitting both of the bank, the same mafia culture.
